The couple Melita Gwerková and Marian Vida share the time and space in both the artistic performance and their family life. They live in an active mutually enriching connection there.
They put together an attractive thread of their desires, knowing and associations in a miniature mosaic in their works. Their figurativeness reaching after both the present and the history, after both the longago and the currently lived through events groups mysticism together with the reality, paraphrases and also symbols with easiness. Illusive depiction of the reality and also transplantation of a feeling, direct auto-projection and creative conversion of subjective figurativeness into an objectively existing painter´s work are a result of their effort. An obvious attractiveness of their author´s effort is an invitation into the countryside where you can rest and regenerate your tired senses. Compositions by both Gwerková and Vida woven from colours, internal imaginations and feelings having their own discreet and still urgent captivating charm and magic enchanting serve this positive perception, a fragile balance between the mind and the emotion.
In her performance, Melita Gwerková prefers fragile dream poetics of experiences and memories. Thanks to her introverted disposition, the author perceives a picture first of all as a piece of her world, a means for communication with both herself and the surroundings. A picture is activated on a canvas intensively and urgently in an inextinguishable desire to tell what has to be told by the painter. So, her art grows from inside, from the thirteenth chamber of inserted memories, sleeping atavisms and ancient history of a nourished memory. The painter´s remarkable work with colours is outstanding in connection with a discriminating painting culture. She has a feeling for colour mass, she will surprise by an eruption of colours or by altering of fine glazing.
The performance by Marian Vida is defined by the search and an intensive insight into mysterious enigmatic spheres. A mystery of things, their mutual relations and connections and also the time elapsed that entered and marked them, nostalgia and magic give an independent life with an internal tension to his works. Unique in their structures, layering, indefinable mysteriousness and spiritual pathos, they bring a true and dazzlingly transparent impression of a mystic moment.
