Stylized female figures, slim bodies, fingers, subtle poses and fluid fairies in the imaginative land of memories and desires. Cultivated color scale that complements the feeling of sovereignty. An impetuous landscape that reflects real feelings. The author of this, especially female world, is a significant personality of the Slovak art scene - Běla Kolčáková.
Běla Kolčáková was born in 1937 in Prague. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague with prof. Vlastimil Radu. After studies she leaves with children and his spouse Ignac Kolčák to his native land - Orava. Since 1978 she has been living and working in Bratislava. Along with the painting, she devoted herself to illustration, collage and she also has had a significant impact on textile production, especially in the figural artprotis processing.
Her artistic development is a way of poetic expression of subjective feelings. In her work, she often portrays women, but not with the intention of figural imagery; on the contrary, she captures the female psyche and personality in all its complexity. The paintings of Bela Kolčáková are therefore also a look at the woman's soul, her secrecy, calmness and unease.
Běla Kolčáková brought and still brings to Slovak art a quality and authentic work. It is not classical surrealism or poetism. In particular, it is the world of lyrical souls and visual metaphors. A country that follows the laws of poetry and sincere emotions. As the author herself said: "The image must conceal the secrets of the past and the future. It provokes questions that everyone is looking for. With a good image, dialogue can be conducted all the time. "
