Fero Lipták: (Un)ordinary stories

Back

Scenic and film maker, artist and illustrator or Fero Lipták in one person. Author of a little red man with big eyes who finds himself in various situations. Above all, it is an endless imagination, creativity, and an original view on the everyday world around us that makes Fero Lipták unique.

His work can attract, make you laugh, or drive the imagination of each of us. The author's paintings tell ordinary and totally unbelievable stories that open a new world. A world full of ideas, joke, human suffering and joy.

He has had special liking to the art since childhood, later he finished his studies at the School of Applied Arts, graphics department in Kosice and the University of Performing Arts, department of scenography, in Bratislava. Since 1986 he has worked with almost all Slovak theaters and has become recognized not only at home but also in the Czech Republic and Poland. Since 1991 he has been intensely engaged in film. He has worked with director Martin Šulík on profiled Slovak films of the nineties. In 1990 he founded the independent theater company TEATRO TATRO. Among his favorite things belong books. He is surrounded by pictorial publications and professional literature. The book is for him not only a source of inspiration and information, but also an aesthetic object: "I like to hold the book in my hand and browse through it. I have a much better feeling when reading the texts on paper than on my computer. This is the same with photos. Better in your hand than on the screen. "

Fero Lipták plays nothing. He does not try to shock or attract attention. He simply creates and puts its ideas on canvas, wood, clothing, furniture ... In the best meaning, he is a completely normal person who also puts honesty in his works. And he does it very originally. That's why his work creates an oasis in which one finds pleasure and sometimes good advice - to look at the world with a little lightness and lesser gratitude.
