On Wednesday, 5th December 2018, the Fund of Fine Arts awarded prof. Dušan Kállay for a significant contribution in the field of fine art in Slovakia. Dušan Kállay studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava from 1966 to 1972 under prof. Ladislav Cemicky, prof. Ján Želibský and prof. Vincent Hložník. In 1990 - after the departure of Albin Brunovsky - he became Head of the Free Graphics and Book Illustration Department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. In 1991 he was appointed associate professor and in 1994 professor in the field of graphic art. In 2018 he finished his pedagogical work. Dušan Kállay has several important awards on his account: several Grand Prix, the Award of Poštová banka (2017) and the Award of H. Ch. Andersen (1988) for lifelong work. Dušan Kállay is dedicated to painting, graphics, illustration and stamp work. He lives and works in Bratislava.
