We cordially invite you to the second lecture from the series "The Other Side of Art", in which we will focus on the art theft.
Every year around 50,000 - 100,000 works of art are stolen worldwide. It is not a rare activity at all, on the contrary. Less known works as well as the well-known are being stolen. But why? Is it possible to sell a stolen work? Melita Fodor Gwerková will address this issue from an international perspective, focusing mainly on the following areas:
- current numbers
- the most common motivation or why does someone steal Munch's Scream?
- the best-known, greatest and most absurd theft of works of art
- can art theft be prevented?
- insure or not to insure the art work?
