Painter and illustrator Běla Kolčáková graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts with professor Vlastimil Rada in Prague. She went to Slovakia with her husband Ignác Kolčák, where their joint cultural and social work left traces in the Orava region in the form of the Folk Art Gallery they founded. Běla Kolčáková illustrated almost 30 books. In addition to painting, Běla Kolčáková devoted herself to illustration, collage, and made a significant impact in textile production, especially in the processing of figural artprotis. She has had many exhibitions at home and abroad. She lives and works in Bratislava.
