More than 50,000 works of art are stolen worldwide every year. So it is not a rare activity at all. Both lesser-known works and the most famous ones are stolen. But why? Can a stolen work be sold at all? Melita Fodor Gwerková will focus on the following areas:
- the most common motivations or why would someone steal Munch's The Scream?
- the most famous, largest but also the most absurd thefts of works of art
- can art theft be prevented?
- cases from Slovakia
