(* 1962, Třebíč, CZ) Igor Piačka studied at the Department of Fine Arts and Book Creation at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava in 1983-1989 (Professor Albín Brunovský). From 1987 to 1988 he studied at the Academie Royale des Beaux Arts in Brussels (Professor Philippe Maes). From 1990 to 2003 he worked as a teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, he led a course in figural drawing at the Department of Graphics. He is a member of the G-Bod graphics group, the Graphic Artists' Association and the Hollar Association. He specializes in graphics, painting, drawing, illustration and stamp making.

The act occupies an important place in Igor Piačka's work. Through brilliantly mastered figures, he conveys worlds full of emotions and tension. The author's graphic and painting work is significantly influenced, both are dynamic and always interpret the current topic of human relations.

Igor Piačka has had a number of author exhibitions at home and abroad (Norway, Romania, Japan, Bulgaria and others). In addition to other publications, he also illustrated the 8th volume of the book One Thousand and One Nights.
