On Friday, June 16, new exhibition spaces were opened in Bratislava. Tower 5 opened its gallery with a vernissage by the artist and married couple Melita Gwerková and Marian Vida. The exhibition is open to the public until July 14, 2023.

Tower 5 is an administrative building that offers a healthy working environment with wonderful views of the panorama and the main landmarks of the city of Bratislava. From June 16, it also opens its premises for art. The exhibition of well-known artists Melita Gwerková and Marian Vida will baptize the new gallery premises, which will also be open to the public. Exhibitions will be held in the Tower 5 premises on a regular basis and will thus provide space for the presentation of many Slovak artists.

Married couple Melita Gwerková and Marian Vida rarely exhibit. With the exhibition Equilibrium, they come after several years and present the latest work from the last 2 years. "As the name itself suggests, the exhibition brings a kind of balance to the audience. Whether it's about the male-female principle, reality balanced by fantasy or earthy tones softened by dreamy color variations... , says the curator and at the same time the daughter of the exhibiting authors Melita Fodor Gwerková.

In the work of Marian Vida, you can feel the male principle and the always present perfectly elaborated composition. Gentle glazes meet bold lines and complete the overall dynamics of the work. Alluded to figures are mixed with real and fanciful references to create an engaging story with an open ending. Melita Gwerková's paintings represent a woman's world, full of fantasy, poetic, dreamy. Complex and time-consuming layering of glazes sometimes create a three-dimensional effect. The viewer literally finds himself in the landscape surrounded by imaginative fauna and flora. Cultivated colors, poetic names and many elaborate details together create a harmonious whole. Melita Gwerková's paintings are not created quickly, on the contrary, they are a reflection of deep feeling and conscious creation.

Both authors won several foreign awards for their original techniques. The works of Marian Vida are, among other things, part of the Permanent Mission of the Slovak Republic to the United Nations in New York. Melita Gwerková is a graduate of Fine Arts at the Comenius University in Bratislava. For her original technique, she was the first Slovak artist to be awarded a bronze medal of the Italian Parliament (2011).
