(*22.11.1952, Bratislava, SK) Sculptor and ceramist. Vlado Oravec attended the Higher art-industrial school in Bratislava. Later on he graduated the Academy of Industry and Arts in Prague in the class of prof. Eckert, ceramic department. He has been living in Banska Stiavnica since 1981. He is dedicated to utilitarian pottery, monumental sculptures made of ceramic. His works act as caricatures of strange human or animal creatures that offen reflect our deep hidden characteristics. The modus operandi reminiscents nests made of tiny small pieces glued together which enhances the excellent craftmanship.
Vlado Oravec attended numerous symposia. His unconventional technique was awarded by several awards. He exhibited his works in the Netherlands, England, Germany, France as well as Monaco.
